Project completion: On going

The big hotel complex located in the coast of south Portugal consisting of more than 50 luxurious villas, sports club, pool clubs, restaurants and a nightclub all set in a natural park. The idea is to create a luxury place that feels fully natural, where you can achieve total privacy and at the same time be part of a community. Landscape and architectural volumes keep similar lighting levels and qualities to enhance the dialogue between the inside and the outside. A continuous exchange between light and shadow is what shapes the space. Architectural forms are used as surfaces to project tree shadows making the natural movement of the leaves part of the scene. Playing with skylights and vertical openings as elements for both natural and artificial light is a main conceptual element. The human body experiences an environment that reflects daylight conditions during night time. Dynamic color temperature with tunable white technology that follows the daylight conditions through an astro-clock programmed system is implemented both in technical and decorative lighting. The project follows the BREEAM regulations for a sustainable built environment.
